Moving Into Something Great

What You Can Expect as a Dance Major or Minor at Seton Hill

The Seton Hill Dance Program creates versatile and well-rounded artists grounded in the liberal arts. All dancers, regardless of the degree or concentration, complete the core dance curriculum, which explores courses in:

  • Dance technique.
  • Cultural dance forms.
  • Dance improvisation.
  • Dance history.
  • Teaching of dance.
  • Dancer health and wellness.

Following our dance program’s learning objectives, students investigate a wide variety of dance topics in a supportive and encouraging environment. Our knowledgeable faculty guide each student through individual advising sessions each semester, where students are encouraged to develop and embrace their individual artistry. Students can enhance their studies with additional opportunities such as performances, internships, visiting artists and study away experiences.
