Tara Zalewsky-Nease received her Masters of Fine Art in Painting from the University of New Mexico (2006) and her Bachelors of Fine Art in Graphic Design and Illustration from Kent State University, OH (2003). In addition to teaching at the college level, she has taught workshops at Touchstone Center for Crafts. She also teaches water based oil painting techniques at her studio in Sewickley, PA, “Studio Ochre”, where she holds community painting classes through her “Pittsburgh Paintings” series. She actively exhibits her artwork, her most recent solo exhibition being a series of 200+ paintings and soft sculpture at Borelli Edwards Gallery in Lawrenceville, PA. In New Mexico, she had solo exhibitions of her painting and sculpture in Sante Fe, Albuquerque, and the Millicent Rodgers Museum in Taos. She was the artist in residence at the Harwood Museum of Art in Taos (2006), and her painting and sculpture has won various awards, including The Friends of Art- Best in Show award from The Jonson Gallery in Albuquerque.
