Stefan Zubal is an Assistant Professor of Theatre and Dance at Seton Hill University and guest faculty in the Seton Hill University Community Dance Program. Originally from Forest Hill, Maryland Stefan discovered ballet while studying music in college. He received his early training with Pam Lauer at County Ballet Studio, followed by two years with the Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet in Carlisle Pennsylvania and ending his training with the two years at the Washington School of Ballet. Joining the Richmond Ballet in the 1992 Stefan danced with them for seven years in many classical and contemporary works. He was part of several world premiers including; Bowout and Djangology by Val Caniporilli, Stefan moved to Fort Wayne in 1999 to teach and dance with the Fort Wayne Ballet. In 2007 he graduated from Indiana University and Purdue University at Fort Wayne with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre that had an acting emphasis and in May 2010 he graduated from Florida State University with a Master of Fine Arts in Dance. He has choreographed several musicals, recently Bat Boy: The Musical for the Seton Hill University, as well as collaborating with the Fort Wayne Philharmonic on three projects that take literary classics and integrate dance, music and text. In addition to stage work Stefan has three dance film projects under his belt; the documentary Embodiments of Silence; An Onsite Dance Experience about the filming of Tim Glenns’ Embodiments of Silence at Birdsong Nature Conservatory; the Sweet Duet filmed onsite at FSU and The Question filmed onsite featuring his own original composition
