RILEY ZIMMERMANN is a double bassist and educator in the Pittsburgh area. As an active performer, he has appeared with groups such as the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the New World Symphony, the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and the Erie Philharmonic. In 2019 Riley won 1st place in the Orchestral Division competition at the International Society of Bassists convention in Bloomington, IN. Riley has performed with touring bands such as The Town Pants, the Jakob's Ferry Stragglers, and the Shelf Life String Band. He has served as a double bass coach and clinician with the Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra, Pittsburgh Youth Philharmonic Orchestra, and PMEA District 1. As a teacher he is currently serving as an elementary orchestra teacher in North Allegheny School District, he maintains a private studio, he serves as interim adjunct professor at Seton Hill University, and he is on staff at the Baltimore-based double bass camp Bass Works during the summer.
