Rachel Marie Sharan, D.H.Sc., PA-C, MSPA is a Physician Assistant, Wife, Mother of Four, Hospitalist, and Assistant Professor/Clinical Coordinator for the Physician Assistant Program. Completing her undergraduate work in Psychology in 2006, she went on to complete her Master's in Physician Assistant studies at her alma mater, Seton Hill University in 2010. After passing her certification boards, she went on to complete a residency in Level I Trauma, Critical Care, Surgery, and Orthopedics at WakeMed Health & Hospitals in Raleigh, North Carolina in 2010. After her residency, she completed her post-graduate work at Nova Southeastern University, where she obtained her degree in Doctor of Health Science in 2014. She has experience in the fields of Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, ICU, Orthopedics, General, Oncologic, Minimally Invasive, and Bariatric Surgery. She has worked in hospital medicine as a Hospitalist since 2012. She has precepted students from multiple universities, including Seton Hill (PA and DO students), Duquesne, and Saint Francis, since 2013. She became an adjunct faculty to Seton Hill University's Physician Assistant Program in 2014 and a part-time faculty member in 2018, before accepting a full-time faculty position in 2020. She has four children: Serena, Vera, Everett, and Alexander. She loves to spend time with her family and spend time outdoors. #HazardYetForward
