Lane began working in the restaurant industry when he was 15 years old.  He began as a dishwasher and has worked his way up through the ranks, developing the experience and understanding of every position along the way.  His early work in restaurants was in small family owned businesses that boasted a tight-knit kitchen staff.  While obtaining his undergraduate degree at Westminster College, Lane completed his internship in a larger restaurant that helped him to develop his managerial style.  After school, he couldn't help but go back to his family-owned and community-centered restaurant roots.  He purchased Beechie's Place, in Meadow Lands, PA with his family in 2010.  Beechie's held a wealth of community history and support that Lane and his family extended and built upon.  Lane was able to expand the customer loyalty Beechie's already boasted by overhauling the menu, save a few key staples, and personally remodeling the building extensively with his father.  In his 6 years of ownership, Lane has won numerous awards for culinary excellence, sanitation & education, philanthropy and community action, and has been published in magazines and newspapers, most notably being named under Full Service Restaurant Magazine's "40 Under 40 Rising Stars". When buying his restaurant, Lane knew the value of technology in the industry, so he began creating software for his restaurant to operate seamlessly, which eventually turned into a new company, Midhouse Solutions, LLC. Outside of his business, Lane also serves on a multitude of industry boards, participates in community charity events, and finds time to occasionally give collegiate lectures or judge events with aspiring culinary students.  He makes every effort to immerse himself not only in his restaurant but in the community his restaurant exists in, as well as the culinary community as a whole.  Teaching has always been a part of his daily life within restaurants, and knowing the importance of the next generation of hospitality leaders is excited to take a formal involvement at the collegiate level.
