Seton Hill Writing Program Grads are Best-Selling Authors

Graduates from Seton Hill’s Writing Popular Fiction Program are selling their books and winning awards. Here are just a few former students celebrating recent publishing success: 

Priscilla Oliveras is proud of her Puerto Rican-Mexican heritage, and strives to bring authenticity to her novels by sharing her Latinx culture with her readers. A best-selling author, Priscilla recommends the Writing Popular Fiction Program “to any genre fiction writer interested in honing their craft, whether published or not.”  

V.M. Burns is the author of the Mystery Bookshop Mystery Series, the Lilly Echosby Mystery Series, and the RJ Franklin Mystery Series.  Her series’ have earned four stars from popular book reviewers such as Night Owl Reviews and RT Book Reviews. She has generated quite the reputation for her unique style of writing. 

Don Bentley has just sold world English rights to two books in a new thriller series. The first title, "Without Sanction," follows a PTSD-stricken DIA (Defense Intelligence Agency) officer named Matt Drake, who “must to return to Syria to face his biggest failure but unearths much more than he bargained for, including his own redemption.” The series is set to launch in spring 2020. 

Seton Hill Writing Popular Fiction Program faculty are all published authors. Faculty with new releases include:

Lee McClain, Ph.D., a best-selling author of eight contemporary romances for Harlequin Love Inspired, and 20 independently-published novels and novellas. Her first of three mainstream romance novels with Harlequin HQN, "Low Country Hero," was released in February of this year.

Sharon Short, who writes as Jess Montgomery, is the author of the award-winning book "The Widows," released in January.

Victoria Thompson’s latest addition to her NY Times best-selling Gaslight Mystery series, "Murder on Trinity Place," will be released this coming April.
