Bassi-Cook Earns Professional License to Practice as Counselor in Pennsylvania

Kimberley A. Bassi-Cook, Seton Hill University’s coordinator of Disability Services and prevention specialist, recently earned a professional license to practice as a counselor in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Counselors who practice in the community, with clients of any age, must be licensed through the Pennsylvania State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors, in order to be recognized as a licensed professional counselor (LPC).
Bassi-Cook, of Latrobe, Pa., obtained both her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and her Master of Education degree in community cross-cultural counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. She has completed the coursework required to obtain a Doctor of Education degree in higher education administration at the University of Pittsburgh. Bassi-Cook began at Seton Hill University in 2005 as the coordinator of Disability Services.
Bassi-Cook holds professional membership with the American College Counseling Association, American Counseling Association, American Multicultural Counseling and Development Association, Greater Pittsburgh College Counseling Association, Greensburg Council on Alcohol and Youth, Juvenile Commission of Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania College Counseling Association, and Pennsylvania Counseling Association.
