Campus Safety
The University is situated on a 200-acre campus near a suburban area, and Seton Hill recognizes its responsibility to protect its students and their property. To provide for the safety of students and to enhance the quality of life on campus, the University maintains a Police Department which provides coverage 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Although the department is comprised of highly trained professionals, with full police powers, the basic responsibility of campus safety rests with each community member. The key factors in providing a safe and secure campus are mutual respect and compliance with regulations which the administration deems necessary for the general welfare of the total campus.
The Campus Police Office is located in Lowe Hall room 117. Officers are on duty 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The telephone number for the Campus Police is (724) 830-4999 or 4999 from any campus telephone. The Campus Police Chief's office is located in Lowe 115 and his hours are Monday - Friday 8 AM to 4 PM. The telephone number for the Chief of Police is (724) 830-4998.
In an emergency, requests for medical assistance, police and fire department services, student services assistance, or maintenance issues, the Campus Police may be reached by calling on any campus telephone, extension 4911, or (724) 244-2192 from any telephone or cell phone.
