Opportunity Program

The Opportunity Program is designed to ease the transition to college life and enhance a student’s chances for academic success. Students enrolled in the Opportunity Program arrive on campus a week prior to the beginning of the fall semester, and enjoy a variety of workshops, events and forums addressing both the social and academic aspects of the college experience.  Educational planning, effective decision-making strategies and skill development in writing and critical thinking are discussed, as are introductions to classroom lectures in academic subjects such as management, history and social work. The Admissions Committee will inform a student during the admissions process if he or she is a candidate for the Opportunity Program.
