The Counseling Center at Seton Hill

Free, confidential, short-term mental health counseling is available on-campus at Seton Hill’s Counseling Center. Counselors are available to assist students in developing an understanding of themselves, their environment, and their potential.  Individual and group services are provided to students who are making personal, academic, social, or career decisions.

  • Licensed counselors are available for appointments Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4 PM. (Some 4 PM appointments are available but must be scheduled in advance).
  • On-call availability 24/7 through Campus Police. Campus Police are trained first responders for emergencies and are available at all times.

Off-Campus Counseling Support

Center counselors can provide virtual short-term care to students residing in the state of Pennsylvania. The Center supports students in obtaining resources and referrals for specialized or long-term counseling in the community. The Center partners with:

  • ThrivingCampus - a HIPAA compliant web application - to support students in finding a therapist in the local community or while away at an internship, home for the summer, etc.
  • The Blackburn Center, a local Greensburg, Pa. organization that provides free, confidential services (individual and group therapy, advocacy services, etc.) and a 24-hour hotline for victims of violence.

Incoming Students:

Students who have current services (counseling and/or medication management) and are expecting to transition to Seton Hill are strongly encouraged to contact the Counseling Center at counselingcenter@setonhill.edu to set up a consultation at least 4-6 weeks before moving on campus. This consultation will help you proactively plan for support and limit unexpected lapses in care during this busy transition period. This is especially important for those moving from another state or country as licensing restrictions may create barriers to continuing with current providers.
