Recruiting Options & Guidelines

 
 

Seton Hill's Career & Professional Development Center will work with you to determine the most effective recruiting strategies based on your hiring needs and our student population. Choose one or a combination of the recruiting options below.

CareerWorks provides the following services for employers:

Employer Tables – Informally talk with students about your company and the internship/job opportunities you have available.  Tables are scheduled from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and are located outside the student dining hall (one table per semester).   Please be sure to bring your company display and brochures/handouts to distribute.

Information Sessions – Showcase your organization, along with any internship or job opportunities, during an hour-long session.  Information sessions are typically scheduled during lunch or later in the afternoon to accommodate class schedules.  A room will be provided.

Interview Sessions  - Interview prospective candidates for opportunities available in your organization.  You have the option to pre-screen all resumes submitted and personally select the candidates you would like to interview, or we will schedule interviews for all interested candidates and provide you with their resumes.  You may schedule one day of interviews lasting 20, 30, or 45 minutes.  A room will be provided.  Please submit your internship/job description at least four weeks prior to your interview date so we have time to make the opportunity known to our students.

Recruiting Policies and Guidelines 

To preserve student privacy, and to limit the risk to Seton Hill students, alumni and other users of our services, the CPDC has established these policies and guidelines for all employer services provided through our office.



CareerWorks provides services for organizations whose opportunities meet the following basic criteria:

  • If you offer a paid position, the rate of pay is at least equal to Pennsylvania minimum wage (calculated over any time scale such as hourly, weekly, semi -monthly, monthly or annually).
  • If the advertised position is an unpaid internship, this condition is clearly publicized in the position description.
  • If compensation for the position will be commission only, this condition is clearly publicized in the position description.
  • You, as an employer, comply with all federal, state and local employment regulations.
  • The organization accurately describes the responsibilities and requirements of the position being offered in all publicity, including publicity for employer information sessions.

Guidelines for third party agencies:

  • A third party agency may list positions online at collegecentral.com if the agency identifies itself as a third party agency in the job description.
  • The agency does not charge any fee to the applicants.
  • The agency provides a specific position description and requirements in the online listing.
  • The agency complies with the requirements of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and only releases candidate information with the written permission of the applicant and only for the specific listed position.

NOTE: The Career & Professional Development Center will investigate any user complaints in regards to job postings, employers, or resume concerns. If we determine that a complaint is justified, we may choose not to sponsor recruiting activities for the employer involved. The CPDC will notify the employer in writing of the decision.
