The women's soccer team was victorious against Ohio Valley 4-0 on Saturday. With the win, Seton Hill finished up the regular season with a 6-12 overall record (4-6 in WVIAC). SHU got on the scoreboard early in the contest when Mackiesh Taylor scored just 3 minutes into the game. Then, at the 25:08 mark, Julia DeLuca added to the Griffin lead with a breakaway goal. SHU, however, was not done. Lauren Freeman found the back of the net from a DeLuca pass to give SHU a 3-0 advantage. Kady Daerr's corner kick found its way into the back of the net during the 39th minute to close out the Griffin's scoring for the day. SHU held a 16-3 shots advantage over Ohio Valley. Sam Gilarski earned the win in goal, while Jenna Forzano shared time and the shutout with her. Although it was Senior Day for 4 of the team members, (Kalie Mills, Shannen Lyons, Kady Daerr, and Sam Gilarski), it will not be the final game of their career. Wheeling Jesuit defeated Pitt-Johnstown in double-overtime, therefore, helping the Griffin's clinch the #6 seed in the WVIAC tournament. SHU will be playing Wheeling Jesuit at Wheeling sometime next week in first-round tournament action.
