Women's Cross Country Finishes Second at WVIAC Championships

The Griffin women's cross country team finished second overall at the WVIAC Championships hosted by Glenville State University. West Virginia Wesleyan won the championship with 69 points. The Griffins were a close second, finishing with 75 points. The second place finish is the best in school history.
Julie Pierret earned first team all conference honors by finishing seventh overall. Hannah Lash, Kyrsti Sowers and Dianna Griffin each earned second team all conference honors. Lash was 11th, Sowers 16th and Griffin was 20th. Anna Cote rounded out the Griffin top five and finished right behind Griffin in 21st.
The team will take next weekend off preparing for the NCAA Atlantic Regional at Mansfield on November 7th.
