SETON HILL MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY WINS WVIAC CHAMPIONSHIP

The Seton Hill Men’s Cross Country Team made a little bit of history on Saturday morning when they won the WVIAC Cross Country Championship which was hosted by Glenville State. The title is the first ever WVIAC championship to be won by a Griffin team. The team won the title in their second season of competing in the WVIAC.

Freshman Dominic Camasso was named MVP of the race and Freshman of the Year after finishing in first place in the championship race. Camasso was also named first team all conference. Jon Bogert was also named first team all conference and finished in fifth overall. Mike Ortiz joined Camasso and Bogert on the first team, Ortiz finished sixth overall. Jess Bradley earned second team all conference honors by finishing in 14th place. Ben Rogers was the fifth Griffin, finishing 25th.

The team finished the race with 51 points. Head coach Tim Creamer was also named WVIAC Men’s Cross Country Coach of the Year. Creamer stated, “I am very proud of the effort of our men’s team today. They ran the way I hoped they would and produced a conference championship. This squad will go down in history and will be forever remembered as the first Seton Hill team to win a WVIAC Championship.”
