Women's Soccer Defeats Lake Erie 2-0

The Griffin's improved their record to 5-11 overall with a 2-0 out-of-conference win against Lake Erie College on Thursday. Deena Salameh got the Griffins on the board first when she scored off of an Amber Mondock assist in the 38th minute. The Griffins went to half with a 1-0 lead. Much of the second half remained scoreless until, in the 87th minute of play, Mondock sealed the game off of a pass from Alysha Alaimo. For the game, SHU owned a 12-10 shots on goal advantage over Lake Erie. Also, Sam Gilarski was solid in net for the Griffins preserving the shutout with 5 saves. Next up, SHU travels to conference foe Wheeling Jesuit next Tuesday. Game is slated for 7:00 PM.
