Griffins Defeat Slippery Rock in Overtime

Natasha Nichols scored the game winner and Krista Archambeau scored the other Griffin goal and assisted on the game winner as SHU ended a two game losing streak with a 2-1 overtime thriller on the road at Slippery Rock. The Griffins improve to 4-2 on the season.
Slippery Rock got onto the scoreboard first just 13 minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. Archambeau scored her first goal of the game at the 52 minute mark to tie the game at one. Janelle Hofer assisted on Archambeau's goal. Both teams remained scoreless for the rest of regulation forcing the game into overtime. The first overtime and game ended with a wild finish. The Griffins were awarded a penalty corner with no time left in overtime because of a Rock foul. The corner had to take place because game cant end on a foul. On the next corner there was another foul. The process repeated until the fourth corner when Nichols found the back of the net off the SRU goalie.
The Griffins will return to action on Saturday afternoon when they host #1 ranked Bloomsburg.
