Griffins Roll Over St Vincent, 3-0

The Griffin men's soccer team stayed unbeated with a 3-0 victory over Route 30 rival St Vincent. Mike Oliver scored twice and the Griffin goalies posted their third shutout of the season in the victory. With the win the Griffins improve to 2-0-1 on the season.
SHU got on the scoreboard first when Mike Pistentis blasted a shot into the upper right corner of the net from 20 yards out 20 minutes into the first half. The game remained 1-0 throughout the rest of the first half. Mike Oliver netted his first goal of the game 7 minutes into the second half. Oliver then put the game away with his second goal of the game, a beautiful give and go from Garrett Fishaw, to give the Griffins a 3-0 lead.
Keepers Jon DeLuca and Eddie Daerr combined on the Griffins third straight shutout. DeLuca made one save and Daerr stopped two shots. The Griffins will have 7 days off before returning to action and opening up WVIAC play when they host Charleston on September 9th.
