After another three and out for the Griffins, the defense stepped up and stopped the Cavaliers on a 4th and 4 from the SHU 34. SHU took over on their own 34 and drove the ball all the way to the Wise 2 yard line with the big play of the drive being a 27 yard run by Darnell Jones on a 4th and 1. The Griffins lined up in the victory formation but fumbled the snap at the two yard line with 1:12 to play in the game, giving Wise one last shot.
