The game was scoreless throughout with each team having a few chances throughout each half. Oliver scored the game winner as he defected a pass from Mercyhurst goalie Diego Gustin and the ball rolled into the back of the Mercyhurst net. Griffin goalie Jon DeLuca recorded five saves in net to earn the shutout. SHU was outshot in the contest by a 14-11 margin. The Griffins return to action on Sunday when they travel to Gannon for a 1 PM start.
