Tranks leads Griffins on Don Hansen's FB Gazette All-Super Region I Squad

Junior returner Sammy Tranks leads four Griffins who have earned honors on Don Hansen's FB Gazette All-Super Region I Squad. Tranks was named to the squad as a first team all purpose player and a first team return specialist. Joining Tranks on the first team was defensive end Matt Galadyk. Also making the squad were offensive lineman AJ Erni and running back Antwarn Jones. Erni was selected to the second team and Jones was named to the third team.
Tranks caught 63 passes for 826 yards and 7 touchdowns. He averaged 22.1 yards per kickoff return with 1 touchdown and averaged a NCAA Division II leading 23.9 yards per punt return, scoring 4 touchdowns on a punt return. Galadyk added 52 tackles, including 21 tackles for loss, 9 sacks, 1 interception, 3 fumble recoveries, 3 fumbles forced and 1 blocked kick. Erni led the way for Jones and the Griffin running game which averaged 164.2 rushing yards per game. Jones has rushed for 1,323 yards and a school record 15 touchdowns this season. He also topped the 3,000 career yard mark this season.
