The Men’s Cross Country team and head coach Tim Creamer are looking forward to the 2011-2012 season, their sixth season as a member of the WVIAC. Two seasons ago, the Griffin men made Seton Hill school history by becoming the first sport at Seton Hill to win a WVIAC team championship. Coach Creamer will have a very young team this season that includes just three juniors and a strong group of six freshmen. The Griffins will need to replace their captains and All Conference runners, Ben Rogers and Mike Ortiz who both graduated last season. All three of the Griffin returnees were all conference selections in 2010. Jon Bogert, who finished third overall at the WVIAC Championships, and Dom Camasso, who was tenth overall, were both named to the all conference first team. Fellow junior Justin Weaver was 19th overall and earned second team all conference honors. Freshman Carl Koehler, Austin Rigsby, Chris LaCava, Riley Giaquinto, Scott Black and Josh Davis will be looked upon to make an immediate impact on the SHU team. The 2011 men’s cross country team will look to carry on the winning tradition the past teams have set.

The Griffins will compete in 5 invitational meets during the 2011 regular season, which are highlighted by the season opener the SHU Griffin Classic, the University of Notre Dame National Catholic Invitational and Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University. The men will also travel to meets at Davis and Elkins and Slippery Rock. The season will wind down at the WVIAC Cross Country Championships hosted by Glenville State College in late October along with the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional Championship in early November hosted by Slippery Rock University, where Creamer will look to qualify his team and individual’s for the NCAA National Championship meet November 19th in Spokane, Washington.
