Undergraduate Transfer Student
Applicants applying to Seton Hill University that have completed any college credits at a post-secondary institution, after graduating from high school or earning their GED is considered a transfer student.

Seton Hill University has rolling admissions, so there is no deadline.

Articulation Agreements
An articulation agreement between institutions that coursework taken at one institute will transfer into the program of the other. For Seton Hill, there are transfer guides from Westmoreland County Community College and Community College of Allegheny County in which students can find out what classes will transfer. Transfer Credits
Once admitted into Seton Hill University, all official college transcripts will be reviewed for transfer credit. Students will receive an official credit evaluation indicating which credits will transfer into Seton Hill. Credit will only be given for courses in which the student earned a C- or better.

There is not a limit on how many transfer credits can be accepted. However, students must complete a minimum of 48 Seton Hill credits to be considered for a baccalaureate degree. Also, at least half of the student's major courses and the last 30 credits must be taken at Seton Hill.

Types of transcripts
  • Official transcripts are those sent directly to the university in a sealed envelope.
  • Unofficial transcripts are those issued directly to a student or online. These are not considered as officials for enrollment purposes.
Note: typically colleges and high schools require your request for transcripts be in writing. Please feel free to use this form if needed.

Unofficial Credit Evaluations
Seton Hill can evaluate unofficial transcripts by contacting our Transfer Counselor, Allison Sasso at (724) 838-4231 or sasso@setonhill.edu to make arrangements.

GPA requirement
There is no minimum grade point average (GPA) for admission. However, the decision is based on the number of college level credits taken, grades earned, cumulative GPA earned, and if needed we will refer back to high school grades and SAT/ACT scores.

Financial aid
Financial aid packages can only be completed only if a student has been accepted to the university.

Transfer students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) listing Seton Hill University (school code 003362) to be eligible for financial aid. To receive the maximum amount of financial aid a student should complete their FAFSA by May 1st. Visit the FAFSA website.

Transfer Scholarship
A transfer scholarship is available to students who enroll full-time and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.5. Students must have two consecutive semesters prior to transferring to Seton Hill University as a full time student. It is a $5,000 scholarship annually and renewable for 3 years with a minimum 3.0 grade point average maintained.

WCCC Scholarship
Students who have been accepted to Seton Hill University enrolled full-time, and have attended Westmoreland County Community College and completed 15 or more credits will be awarded $1,500.

LEP/DANTES
Credit can be received by taking CLEP or DANTES exams. CLEP and DANTES exams can be taken through the Office of Graduate and Adult Studies during office hours: Monday - Thursday from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m., Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. Please contact the Office of Graduate and Adult Studies at (724) 838-4208 or adultstudies@setonhill.edu for more details.
