Two days after my graduation from Seton Hill University, I found employment with a local company associated with the health care industry. With the skills that I obtained through the Adult Degree Program at Seton Hill University, and my previous work experience, I obtained a quality systems analyst position. I would recommend The Adult Degree Program to any individual interested in furthering their current career or for the opportunity to begin a new one. Seton Hill provided me with the tools necessary to begin my new career.

Each year millions of adults enter college to obtain a degree. You will make an excellent candidate for the Seton Hill University Adult Degree Program if:
- A commitment to family, workplace responsibilities or community obligations makes attending traditional day classes a near-impossibility.
Each student in the Adult Degree Program at Seton Hill comes with his or her own set of life demands: some are retraining, some are considering changing their career, and some are attending college after raising a family. For many, traditional day classes are simply not an option. Seton Hill understands your commitments and will work with you to make sure you can still realize your goal of obtaining a college degree.
- You want to update your skills for your current position, apply for a promotion or new position, or overhaul your career goals altogether.
In this ever-evolving world we live in, few people will follow a linear path from education to work to retirement. Most people will find themselves back in the classroom several times throughout their working adult lives. Whether your dream job requires a higher degree of education, the children are grown and you are ready to begin another rewarding career, or your current field no longer holds the luster it once did and you're ready to head in a new direction, Seton Hill can offer you the support you need to get where you want to go.
- You want to obtain a college education, but need to stay within your established household budget.
The staff in Seton Hill's financial aid office will be able to discuss all the options available to make your dreams of attending school a reality - for less than you think. For students eligible for employer reimbursement, Seton Hill University has a deferred payment plan. Students who enroll for at least six credits per semester may be eligible for financial aid in the form of federal or state grants or student loans.
- You are afraid of "getting lost in the system" at an institution and not having your unique needs met.
The Office of Graduate and Adult Studies at Seton Hill exists solely to offer you outstanding personal attention that is sensitive to your circumstances. You will be respected, encouraged, and expected to achieve by our staff members. Specialized advising includes information on Seton Hill's degree programs, an unofficial evaluation of transfer credits, career counseling or referral for testing, recommendations for credits via lifelong learning experience, exceptional service focused on student satisfaction, registration for the upcoming semester, and financial aid information or referral.
- You don't have a lot of free time to spend commuting to and attending classes several days a week.
Adult degree program students are welcome in day, evening and Saturday classes, or a combination of all of these. Upon acceptance, you will be assigned to an advisor who will help you plot out a schedule that suits your needs and helps you achieve your goals.
- You've been in the workforce for a while and, even without a prior degree, feel your life experiences should count for something.
Seton Hill offers a lifelong learning opportunity that grants up to 30 credits for level of knowledge acquired through various life experiences. Options include the College Level Examination Program (CLEP) and Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) exams, portfolio development, and Challenge Exams. These credits can enable you to complete a program of study in less time than would be required in the traditional format. To determine whether you would qualify for this program, discuss it with your Seton Hill admissions counselor or advisor.
