Scholarships

Traditional undergraduate students at Seton Hill University are considered for both financial need-based aid and merit-based aid. Need-based financial aid is awarded based on the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and includes grants, some scholarships, loans and work-study employment. Merit-based aid, including a wide variety of scholarships, is awarded to incoming students on the basis of academic excellence, demonstrated achievement in extra-curricular activities or special talents. The majority of our competitive financial aid packages combine need and merit-based aid.

Scholarships that are available for theatre majors include:
  • Division of Visual and Performing Arts Scholarships - renewable awards that vary from $2000 to full-tuition annually.
  • The William Granger Ryan Memorial Scholarship for Actors, which provides a one-year award of up to $1000 to a first year student majoring in theatre performance or music theatre.
  • The Ruth and Leo Beitler Scholarship, which provides a one-year award of a variable sum and is offered to incoming or returning students who are majoring in theatre and demonstrate significant talent and potential.
All students who complete their audition or portfolio review and interview prior to February 25 are automatically considered for all available scholarships. Scholarship awards are usually announced by March 1.
