Theatre Program

Thanks for visiting us! We invite you to check out our program and what we have to offer. The Seton Hill University Theatre Program has long been committed to both the study and practice of theatre and drama as disciplines of the fine arts and the humanities. Our challenging and forward-thinking program leads to a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre. Here, in the company of people with a passion for theatre, you will enjoy an environment that nurtures your intellect, your imagination, and your aspirations.

Lively classes, rehearsals, and productions are an essential and very exciting part of your experience as a theatre student. The performance and technical opportunities for theatre majors at Seton Hill are abundant, and our standards are professional. Each year our program presents four full-length productions, as well as a number of shorter works. In order that students better understand and appreciate theatre's many dimensions, all theatre majors engage in every facet of production - from creating costumes, to designing and building sets, to engineering lighting and sound.

Faculty of professional caliber present theory and craft in ways that cultivate your natural talents and provide the groundwork to begin to prepare you for careers in the professional theatre and beyond. Our theatre graduates are professional actors, producers, directors, designers, writers, and administrators. They entertain in a variety of venues and mediums: stage, film, television, night clubs, cruise ships, and circuses. They serve creative posts in advertising and public relations. They are writers, casting directors, civic arts coordinators, educators, ministers, and attorneys.

We hope you will consider joining us!
