Message from our Director
Sondra D. Lettrich, Ph.D.

Welcome to Seton Hill University’s Master of Arts in Special Education Program!  If you love to teach, have a lot of patience, and care deeply about students’ learning, this is the program for you.

With the field of special education expanding at a rapid pace, there is an increased need for skilled teachers to accommodate students who have special needs and developmental challenges.  All teachers today face this challenge, and need to be prepared to apply inclusive strategies to meet the needs of students with special learning disabilities.  This program provides the high quality instruction needed to prepare teachers to understand their students and be able to accommodate their learning needs.  The program of study is designed to assist teachers in investigating and evaluating educational theory and in critiquing and conducting research.  Graduates of this program are prepared to be reflective, effective practitioners, lifelong learners and leaders in the field. Many will assume positions as classroom teachers, behavior specialists, curriculum planners and team teachers.

Come study with us and join the ranks of highly skilled and successful professionals in the field of education.
