Special Education Program
Seton Hill's Master of Arts in Special Education Program prepares teachers to address the educational needs of children and youth with disabilities. In addition to advanced coursework, you will also complete fieldwork through a practicum at the Clelian Heights School for Exceptional Children in Greensburg, Pa. Graduates of Seton Hill's Master of Arts in Special Education Program are able to complete certification in special education to teach in school, serve as curriculum specialists, conduct in-service programs for professionals in the field, or work as behavior specialists for private agencies. A Master of Arts in Special Education with a specialization in autism is also available through Seton Hill's Graduate Education Program.
Today's classrooms embrace students representing a variety of socio-cultural backgrounds, learning styles and gifts. Seton Hill's graduate education programs are nationally accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council, and will provide you with the skills and strategies you require to meet the needs of every student.
Seton Hill University's Teacher Education Program has been preaccredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) for a period of five years from September 2008 to September 2013. This accreditation certifies that the Seton Hill education program has provided evidence that the program adheres to TEAC's quality principles.
