Spanish Program
The Spanish major at Seton Hill trains high quality language professionals who are culturally aware and socially compassionate.
The developmental curriculum enables students to acquire professional proficiency even when entering the program with minimal Spanish language exposure.
Equal emphasis is placed on communities of Spanish speakers, and students learn about their culture, history, art, and politics from global and comparative perspectives.
The courses in civilization and literature are complemented with courses in cinema and popular culture. This provides openness to critical thinking about the different
manifestations of culture. All this is done in what has proven to be the best environment for effective language learning: classes of between 10 and 15 students.
A variety of out-of-class activities complement the in-class study of our majors: Spanish Club, Alpha Mu Gamma Honors Society, J/M term opportunities in Cuernavaca,
Mexico and Cordoba, Spain, Junior Semester Abroad, and internships.
