Career Opportunities
Currently, Spanish is spoken by over 22 million people in the USA and 450 million people worldwide. This provides students with many opportunities for professional development in both the domestic and international arenas.
About 50% of Seton Hill Spanish majors choose a career in teaching. Students usually combine study in Spanish and education to become eligible for a teaching certification in Spanish.
The academic rigor of the program is an excellent preparation to pursue graduate studies in Spanish, Comparative Literature, and Professional Translation. Additionally, Spanish is an asset for preparation towards other professions such as law enforcement, social work, medical careers and customer service industries.
Spanish can be the key to success in combination with other majors. A double major will provide the extra edge a successful candidate needs for employment in the private or public sector.
