Admission Requirements
Students may apply to Seton Hill's combined Bachelor of Science/Master of Science in Physician Assistant Program as early as the end of their junior year in high school. While we have a ROLLING APPLICATION PROCESS, it is advantageous to apply early as program seats fill up quickly. The deadline for an early admission decision is October 1 of the year prior to the academic year (beginning in August) in which you wish to attend Seton Hill; all applications received after October 1 are not guaranteed consideration for an interview.
High school students applying to the combined B.S./M.S. in Physician Assistant Program must submit:
- a Seton Hill University Application (in the section for major of interest, please indicate the Physician Assistant Program as the major),
- official high school transcripts, and
- three letters of recommendation.
To be considered for the program, high school students must:
- have a minimum SAT score of 1100 (math and verbal only) or ACT score of 24,
- have a minimum overall GPA of 3.2,
- have a minimum GPA of 3.2 for all science courses,
- participate in an interview with representatives from Seton Hill and the Physician Assistant Program, and
- demonstrate strong oral and written language skills, evidence of ability to complete this intensive program of study and clinical training, personal maturity, and a professional attitude.
In addition, high school students are encouraged to provide information on extracurricular activities, health care/patient contact hours and physician assistant shadowing experiences.
International Applicants whose native language is not English are required to provide examination scores for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS). TOEFL scores of at least 650 (paper-based) or 114 (Internet-based) or 280 (computer-based), or an IELTS score of 7.0, are required.
Note: Seton Hill does not accept college transfer students into this program.
Regardless of whether you are accepted as a high school applicant or graduate student, all admission requirements must be met before matriculation into the graduate level physician assistant program.
Please visit the Physician Assistant Admission information pages for more information on the admissions process for both the combined B.S./M.S. in Physician Assistant and the Master of Science in Physician Assistant.
