Application and Interview Process

Seton Hill's Physician Assistant Program Admissions Committee reviews all applications for the combined Bachelor of Science/Master of Science and Master of Science in Physician Assistant Programs. Selected applicants are invited for an interview on campus with program faculty members. The interview process includes standard interview questions, a communication exercise, and a math and writing assessment. The interview process takes one-half day to complete.

If you are an incoming freshman and would like to apply to the combined B.S./M.S. in Physician Assistant Program, you can apply through the Seton Hill University application. The deadline for an early admission decision is September 1 for the academic year beginning the following August. Eligible candidates who have submitted a completed application by September 1 will be interviewed for admission to the program between the dates of September 1 and October 15, with most candidates in this group receiving an admissions notification by October 31. Eligible candidates who have submitted a completed application after September 1 will be interviewed between the dates of October 16 and November 25, with most candidates in this group receiving an admissions notification by December 15.

If you are applying to the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Program, you must apply through the Centralized Application Service for Physician Assistants (CASPA).

Helpful Hints for Navigating the Application Process through CASPA

All application and supporting materials (transcripts, references, etc.) must be received by CASPA before processing of your file can begin. It takes 2-4 weeks for CASPA processing once your file is complete.

The deadline for application through CASPA is January 15 for the subsequent January class. Eligible candidates will be interviewed for admission to the program in February, March and April, with most candidates receiving an admissions notification in May.

If English is not your first language, TOEFL or IELTS scores must be submitted with your CASPA application as well. Seton Hill University requires graduate students to have a minimum TOEFL score of 650 (paper-based), 280 (computer-based), or 114 (Internet-based). Students may also submit scores from the IELTS with a minimum score of 7.0. You should instruct the testing agency to use the following code when submitting your scores directly to CASPA:
  • TOEFL: designate code 2812
No supplemental application is required for our program.

If you have questions about the application process or the status of your application to the Seton Hill Physician Assistant Program, direct your questions to CASPA. If you have questions about prerequisites, deadlines, screening, interviews, and Seton Hill's selection process, or would like to speak to a Seton Hill faculty member, please call Admissions Program Advisor Laurel Komarny at (724) 552-4355 or e-mail lkomarny@setonhill.edu.
