Wukich Scholarship
POSITION: Wukich Research Assistant Internship. Seton Hill University is currently seeking two Research Assistants. The successful candidates for this position will receive a scholarship covering tuition up to 21 credits in an academic year along with an annual stipend of $3,500.
DEPARTMENT: Wukich Center for Entrepreneurial Opportunities
PURPOSE OF POSITION: The interns will be selected from among fully admitted MBA graduate students specializing in entrepreneurship and will work to support the mission and goals of the Wukich Center, which include research related to entrepreneurship and support for regional entrepreneurs as they plan business start-ups that will benefit southwestern Pennsylvania long-term.
BACKGROUND/SKILLS NECESSARY FOR POSITION: The successful candidates will be MBA students who are fully admitted (no provisional admits) to the MBA Program and will specialize in entrepreneurship. Each candidate must have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a major in business or a related field. Their cumulative undergraduate GPA must be 3.5 or higher or they must have significant business, entrepreneurship, and/or research experience. The candidates must be self-starters with strong work ethics who possess strong analytical and communication skills as demonstrated in academic or professional work.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONSHIPS: Intern will report to the director of the Wukich Center for Entrepreneurial Opportunities ("Center")
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide administrative support for the Center including report preparation, correspondence, and scheduling.
- Assist the director with data collection and analysis.
- Assist entrepreneurs in preparing business and marketing plans.
- Co-author and/or co-present research at appropriate forums.
- Perform individual research related to entrepreneurship.
- Active involvement in the creation and operation of a club for student entrepreneurs.
APPLICATION PROCESS: Interested candidates must submit to the Office of Graduate and Adult Studies all of the application materials required for admittance into the MBA Program along with (a) a professional two page letter describing why they should be awarded the above position and (b) a 10 page or longer research or analytical paper they have written (using APA style) that demonstrates the skills required for the position. The review process will begin immediately and conclude when the positions have been filled. The start date for the positions is August 1, 2010.
