Message from our Director
Sondra D. Lettrich, Ph.D.
Welcome to Seton Hill University’s Master of Arts in Inclusive Education Program!
When the Pennsylvania Department of Education asked for fully inclusive classrooms in the mid-90s, Seton Hill responded immediately by creating courses and master’s programs- such as the Master of Arts in Special Education - to help teachers meet the needs of all their students. Now we are seeing the first generation of students who attended inclusive classrooms in elementary school moving into the high schools. The Master of Arts in Inclusive Education is designed to prepare teachers in all grades from K through 12 to meet the educational challenges of these students.
This unique master's program offers courses that address:
- Teaching students with autism
- Teaching students who are gifted
- Adapting instruction to enhance learning
- The latest research in brain-based learning
- Assessment
- Classroom management
- Parent conferencing
- Typical and atypical development
- Assistive technology
As a graduate education student at Seton Hill University, you will be part of a class that is committed to excellence and recognizes the need to meet the challenges of the future. Our program of study is specifically designed for current K through 12 educators who seek an exceptional learning experience while maintaining a family and career. I believe you will enjoy the flexibility an online degree program allows while maintaining educational integrity.
Come study with us and join the ranks of highly skilled and successful professionals in the field of education.
