Career Opportunities
The history major at SHU is designed to give students the breadth of historical knowledge necessary to teach at the high school level, as well as allowing room for the required social studies and education courses. Historians have important roles in museums, historic sites, and other institutions that preserve and present public memory. Skills in analysis and research and knowledge of the past help prepare history majors for careers in libraries. And history has traditionally been a sound preparation for law school and for careers in government service.
