Machu Picchu, Peru
John Spurlock, Ph.D.
In May 2002 I left the Northern Hemisphere for the first time. I spent three weeks in Peru, studying at the Instituto Don Quijote in Cusco and learning more about the people and culture of the region. Part of my travels included four days hiking on the Inca Trail, culminating in a pre-dawn arrival at Macchu Picchu, one of the most extensive and best-preserved ruins from the Quechua-Inca period.
