Dr. Michael Atherton
 Dr. John Michael Atherton, philosophy and Director of the Honors Program, stands outside the main hall at the University of Gloucester, in Cheltenham, England. On September 19 he presented a paper entitled "Philosophy Outdoors: First Person Physical" to the International Association for the Philosophy of Sport. Deligates from Japan, China, Italy, Finland, Norway, UK, USA, Canada, Brazil, Portugal, South Africa, and Germany presented papers on the philosophical nature of the universal institution of sport. SHU faculty travel extensively to implement the university Mission Statement that tells us to change the world. We then return to campus energized with new ideas and international connections that benefit students and fellow faculty members.
