Elementary/Middle Level Education Program
Do you remember the teacher you liked the most when you were a child? The one who made learning fun - and maybe inspired you to become a teacher yourself? Seton Hill University's Master of Arts in Elementary/Middle Level Education Program is designed to help teachers in grades 4 - 8 make a lasting impact on their students as they teach the fundamental skills students will need throughout their academic lives. With the guidance and support of our experienced faculty you will enhance your teaching skills, strengthen your ability to evaluate education theory and learn to conduct (and critique) research. Pursuing your certification to teach in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is also possible while completing your master's degree.
Today's classrooms embrace students representing a variety of socio-cultural backgrounds, learning styles and gifts. Seton Hill's graduate education programs are nationally accredited by the Teacher Education Accreditation Council, and will provide you - a current or future teacher - with the skills and strategies you need to meet the needs of every student.

Message to Certified Teachers
If you are a certified teacher in any area (art, music, secondary, etc.) who is thinking about adding Pennsylvania Elementary (K-6) to your current teaching certificate, Seton Hill may be able to help you. Because the state is eliminating the K-6 Elementary certificate as of January 1, 2013, those interested in earning the K-6 certificate before it changes have little time to spare. Since certified teachers do not have to student teach a second time, a quick review of your transcripts will let you know if it is possible for you to complete the K-6 requirements before the change date. Contact Seton Hill graduate advisor Laurel Komarny at lkomarny@setonhill.edu for details, or send your transcripts (copies of the transcripts will be sufficient at this time) for a quick review directly to:
Dr. Audrey Quinlan, Program Director
Box 431F, Seton Hill University
Greensburg, PA 15601
or by e-mail to quinlan@setonhill.edu
Please include a current e-mail address for a prompt response.
