Career Opportunities
The career opportunities available to graduates of Family and Consumer Sciences are many. At the secondary education level, there are currently four jobs in Pennsylvania for each graduate. Our options prepare you for career opportunities in child care administration and formal and informal education settings. With a FCS educational background you can pursue a variety of careers serving families. Examples of such careers are child development specialist, child care educator or administrator, family and consumer sciences teacher, family life educator, extension educator, financial counselor, journalist, entrepreneur, consumer affairs professional, consumer educator and/or advocate.
