The incidence of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders has increased dramatically over the last decade, and continues to rise. Researchers estimate that presently 1.1 percent , or 1 in 91 children, are diagnosed with ASD. Consequently, there is a critical shortage of professionals trained and certified in appropriate assessments and treatments for autism. Seton Hill University is offering a four-course, graduate, Professional Certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders designed for those professionals seeking additional training in addressing the needs of children with ASD.
The graduate Professional Autism Certificate is offered online. Teacher certification is not a requirement for admission to this program. These courses can be applied to the Master of Arts Degree in Special Education or Inclusive Education.
