Michael Rubino
Childhood ambition
I wanted to become a comic book artist and work
for Marvel Comics.
Seton Hill major
Graphic design with a minor in creative writing.
My first job
I worked as a clerk for an DVD rental store.
My art
Aside from graphic design, I enjoy photography and illustration.
Fondest SHU Memory
Well there's far too many to choose from, but the
opening night of my senior art show was a great experience.
First job after graduation
Right after graduation I began part-time
as a graphic designer for BrabenderCox in Pittsburgh.
Proudest moment
I set my sights on a job that I really wanted and
then worked through an internship, freelance work, and part time
employment to finally get a full-time position.
Advice to a Seton Hill art student
Make the most of
your senior art show, portfolio, and resume because, if done right,
they can be vital tools to helping you get a job after graduation.

Charles Kyobe
Childhood ambition
Were many through the years due to parents' wishes (you
know doctor, lawyer... what will you do with an art degree? sort of thing),
limited opportunities in Uganda, and knowing I could do anything. All
ambitions seemed to be centered on doing good by those around me.

Advice to a Seton Hill art student
Be competent and

Sarah Zontek
Childhood ambition
I always wanted to make a difference in the world. I wanted the world to be a better place as a result of me being here.
Seton Hill major
Art Education
My first job
Ever? I worked the take-out counter at Jioio's Restaurant. But it was there I met my husband! We were seventeen and have been together ever since!
My art
I am amazed by making something from "nothing;" turning found objects into art. I enjoy painting, sculpture, drawing, mixed media, fashion, and interior decorating.
Fondest SHU Memory
I always think about my first art assignment Freshman year. Dr. Thompson had us work in groups and plan a way to create a "line" somewhere on campus. We drew out our ideas, set up our line, and then documented it over a period of time. It was nice to always be reminded of this project year after year by seeing other "lines" set up around campus, and seeing what ideas other students had.
First job after graduation
I was a substitute teacher in three school districts: Greater Latrobe, Derry Area, and Southmoreland.
Proudest moment
Using my degree every day. Making art every day.
Advice to a Seton Hill art student
Challenge yourself, stay strong and work hard, think ahead and have a plan, but know when to follow it and when not to follow it, enjoy your life everyday, be happy with where you are now.

Fondest SHU Memory
On graduation day, after everyone had been instructed to
wear all black, I purposely chose to wear a pair of red, patent leather,
pointy-toed, three inch stiletto-heeled ankle boots, on which the president
commented "Nice boots" as she handed me my diploma.
First Job After Graduation
Teaching Assistantship in France
Proudest Moment
Figuring out who I am and what I want, and going after it.
Advice to SHU Art Student
