Serving Community

Hands & Hearts

Eight years after Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast, most of the nation had moved on. But the people of New Orleans were (and are) still recovering from the devastation that occurred when the levees broke. In June 2013, alumni, faculty and staff of Seton Hill traveled to the Crescent City with Habitat for Humanity. Read alumni impressions of the trip in GoForward.

As a Catholic institution, Seton Hill treasures its strong history and commitment to community outreach and service to others. In the spirit of its founders, Seton Hill students are encouraged to use their knowledge, skills and talents to bring about the transformation of the world. Through the many service opportunities provided by Campus Ministry, and service learning within academic programs as part of the Catholic Social Teaching initiative, students gain a global awareness that is concerned with all of human life and the care of creation.
